i wish you were here

I dig my toes into the sand
The ocean looks like a thousand diamonds
Strewn across a blue blanket
I lean against the wind
Pretend that I am weightless
And in this moment I am happy.. happy

I wish you were here
I wish you were here
I wish you were here
I wish you were here

I lay my head onto the sand
The sky resembles a backlit canopy
With holes punched in it
I'M counting UFOs
I signal them with my lighter
And in this moment I am happy.. happy

I wish you were here
I wish you were here
I wish you were here
Wish you were here

The world's a roller coaster
And I am not strapped in
Maybe I should hold with care
But my hands are busy in the air saying:

I wish you were here
I wish you were

I wish you were here
I wish you were here
I wish you were here
Wish you were here

does anyone know what 'incubus' means? or like where they got the band name.

so here's an idea to revive this community a bit-everyone post your favorite band, and find out where the name comes from
just for fun:P

idk how accurate these are, they're just from this place. correct me if i'm wrong.

so-matchbox twenty-
as far as i know they were going to call themselves "wood" originally...there's more to it than that but im kinda lazy right now. if anyone else wants to find out i shall love you forever:)
EDIT
MB20's drummer, Paul Doucette, used to be a waiter. One day, this guy walked into the restaurant where Paul worked, wearing this shirt that had the number 20 on it, and all these patches. The only one he could really read said "matchbox". He thought "matchbox 20" sounded cool together and would make an excellent name for a clothing line. Other names the band was considering: "Joanie Loves Chachie" and "Big Shoe Spiders".
idk how accurate that is, but i do know that none of them really liked matchbox twenty until names like "big shoe spiders" started surfacing...
if anyone knows anything else please tell me:)

but here's a few more i found:
SUM 41:SUM stands for Sodomized Underaged Males, and 41 is half the year (1982) one of the integrants was born

BSB:Named after the Backstreet market near Church Street Station in Orlando

the beatles i found 2 for this one...
1. All members of the band loved The Crickets, and it was Stu (John's best friend) who decided to call them "The Beetles" but after three years of playing and various name changes they ALL decided on "The Beatles" so they could be known as a beat band, although there weren't many at the time and some may have thought they would go nowhere because of it. John Lennon told the magazine "Mersey Beat" that he got it from a dream of a flaming pie, because he had a dark sense of humour and found it funny, as well as many of his fans......it can be found in the chapter "Hamburg" on pages 104 and 105 of "Lennon" by Ray Coleman.
2. Actually, if any of you had watched the Beatles' documentary movies, you'd know that John (I think that it was him, or possibly Paul) had a dream where God rode down on a flaming pie, and said "Let there be Beatles, with an A!"

blink-182: They originally wanted to call themselves"Blink" because Tom Delonge likes short verbs. An Irish band named "Blink" threatened to sue them, so they added "182" at the end. Mark Hoppus has said that the number has no signifigance.

boxcar racer:Revelations in the Bible speaks about the end of the world, and Tom Delonge was wondering if World War II was what the Revelations spoke about. The second bomb that was dropped on Japan was from a plane called Bockscar, but commonly misspelled Boxcar. "it kind of really freaked me out. At that point I didn't even want the name, but it was way too late. I blame Travis for that one." - Tom

eh, im done for now.
